With the completion of the Business Case, the Board and the Otipemisiwak Metis Government, as project sponsor, are engaging all levels of government and have begun drafting grant applications for suitable funding.

Community Supper Report

On July 3, 2025 the Fort Vermilion and Area Seniors and Elders Lodge Board and the Otipemisiwak Métis Government held a Community Supper and information session regarding the recently approved Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations. The Otipemisiwak Métis Government was represented by the Secretary of Housing & Infrastructure, Valerie Quintal, and Fort Vermilion Métis District Citizens’ Representative, Bobbi Paul-Alook. The MOU affirms that both organizations are to work together to secure funding, resources, and support for the development and operation of a culturally inclusive seniors and elders care facility in Fort Vermilion for the Region.
